Organic Cotton: Nalan Collection - Organic clothing for babies and toddlers

Organic Cotton

Conventional cotton production is a poisonous industry: although cotton production accounts for only 2.5% of global crop lands, it uses 11% of all pesticides and nearly 25% of insecticides. The World Health Organisation reports that 20,000 people a year die of pesticide poisoning, through direct exposure and contamination of water supplies. This is why it is so vital that your child’s clothing is made from organic cotton from traditional and healthy sources. We can otherwise only guess at the long-term perils of putting all those chemicals into close contact with our children’s delicate skin – why take such risks with your most loved little person?

All our organic cotton is certified by Control Union Certifications, previously known as SKAL International, guaranteeing both that it is produced free of chemical pesticides and also that the farmers’ rights are respected and they are paid a fair wage. We have selected a small manufacturer as a key supply partner to make sure that all elements of the process are undertaken by people who share our beliefs in treating people with fairness and respect. We are working with our partners to gain leading Global Organic Textiles Standards, for all aspects of our work, from cotton seed to home delivery of your garments.

Our intention is to make all stages of our business as eco friendly as possible, seeking suitable partnerships and accredited working processes when available.
